Biography

Recently I left working at MTL-department and transferred to the college of Health and Medical Technologies  as an Associate Dean for Scientific and Graduate Affaires .I did my PhD at Newcastle University (Prof. Loranne Agius' Lab.) on the mechanism of action of metformin in hepatocytes (HCED scholarship). I am interested in diabetes and glucose metabolism in the liver, adipose tissue. anti-hyperglycemic treatment (metformin) and its role in regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism in T2D patients, focusing on Adiponectin, Fibroblast Growth Factor-21 and its receptor (FGFR1c)/co-receptor (KLB), and the cleavage enzyme Fibroblast activation protein-alpha ORCID ID: 0000-0002-0328-3486; Scopus Author ID: 57193900786; Research ID: J-1256-2019.
