Biography
I am currently working at MTL-department as a head of department/ Kufa institute/ Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. I did my PhD at Newcastle University (Prof. Loranne Agius' Lab.) on the mechanism of action of metformin in hepatocytes (HCED scholarship). I am interested in diabetes and glucose metabolism in the liver, adipose tissue. anti-hyperglycemic treatment (metformin) and its role in regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism in T2D patients, focusing on Adiponectin, Fibroblast Growth Factor-21 and its receptor (FGFR1c)/co-receptor (KLB), and the cleavage enzyme Fibroblast activation protein-alpha ORCID ID: 0000-0002-0328-3486; Scopus Author ID: 57193900786; Research ID: J-1256-2019.
