  • عنوان البحث : Enhancement of a Darrius Wind Turbine by Convergent Ducting System and Study the Effect of design Parameter

    This study is to suggest a wind power plant in urban areas where wind speed is low. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The wind turbine analysis and simulation using mathematical models built in MATLAB and numerically by ANSYS FLUENT 17.2 were utilization to study the air flow performance through the duct. Findings: The results for approaches give a good agreement. Angles, one of the principal geometric parameters that significantly affect the convergent performances a four dimensional contraction convergent duct with the same length (1 meter) but different input areas is considered. Numerical simulations and analyses results show that the ratio between velocities recorded in the inlet section and the free stream velocity increases with the increase open angle of the duct system. The power coefficient improved for the convergent duct with opening angle of 40° by 28.571%. Also from VAWT analysis, the influence of design parameters on the power factor was achieved. Blades number effect shows that when the blade number increases the power coefficient is high too, and it is noticed that the power coefficient is increased with the rotor radius. Application/Improvements: Ducted system utilization for increase the productivity of wind turbines with different configurations are facing the restriction of low wind speed and improved wind turbine output capacity.

    Objectives: To derive suitable simulation model to improve the performance of PV cell. Methods/Statistical analysis: Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is one of these techniques that applied to present important tasks encounter in Photovoltaic systems. This work presents a MATLAB-based modeling and simulation scheme suitable for studying the I–V and P–V characteristics of PV cell by Select and collect a data from PV panel for developing a simulink model in Matlab program with different values of the main parameters such as solar radiation, temperature. Findings: The results are illustrated the simulation model of PV cell with NARMA controller gave good agreement results which exhibit the advantages of using ANN techniques in Renewable Energy Systems. Application/Improvements: Artificial Intelligence technique (AI) plays an important role in various applications due to its capability of solved complex problem of systems.

  • عنوان البحث : A Smart Control Based On Microcontroller For Solar Tracking System

    In recent decades, researchers have focused on renewable energy sources to reduce the use of fossil fuels, Solar energy is an important source of energy production at lower cost and clean potential because solar cells depend on the intensity of light and the angle of radiation emitted by the sun's rays due to the Earth's rotation. Therefore, ensuring the best sunlight perpendicular on the solar cells is the focus of the research. In this proposal, a smart self-movement system is designed to track the sun's rays and keep them falling on solar panels perpendicullary at all times of the day. The microcontroller AT-MAGA328P is used to control the motion of two-axis solar panels through the use of alternating servo motors. The microcontroller adopts reading a signal from the sensors that detect the maximum light intensity. The main purpose of this proposal research is to create a smart, low-cost and efficient system by compared to research data in previous works.

    Iraq suffers from a major shortage in the supply of electric power for several reasons, such as wars, the economic sanctions, in addition to obsolescence of generation stations. The demand increases by 10% annually, which aggravates the problem and increases the size of the gap between supplied energy and demanded energy.The treatments taken by successive administrations since 2003 until now do not meet ambition, and they cannot address the shortage for several reasons, the most important of which are administrative corruption and poor planning. Suitable and available options have been reviewed to fill the shortage in electric power and keep pace with the increasing demand for it. The most important of them was the investment of clean energy represented by natural gas, which is one of the energy resources available in Iraq, through the establishment of large gas fired generation plants, in addition to using two types of renewable energy, namely solar and wind energy, to provide their resources in Iraq.

    The objective function of Optimum Radial Power Distribution (ORPD) is to reduce losses of transmission line utilizing optimizing of control variable for example reactive power, switchable generation voltage, and On-Load Tap Changers (OLTC) beneath control and reliant variables constraint. IEEE 33bus system is utilizing as the test system. The aim of this paper is comparing metaheuristic algorithms of optimum load flow utilizing Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithms. The purpose of ORPD is reduce losses of transmission line in control and reliant variables constraints which are projected sensitivity parameter of reactive power which depend on adjustment of model for Fast Decoupled Power Flow (FDPF). The testing system has been utilizing to illustrate ability of algorithm proposed and compared between them (ACO and PSO). The PSO algorithm is leads to minimum power losses with minimizing of voltage deviation, cost of switchable reactive power and maximizing reactive power preserve comparing with other algorithm proposed. As well as, PSO algorithm is give a high accuracy and solution efficiently is of ORPD problems. Moreover, the algorithms proposed represent as s tool potential for aiding of power system operation of online environment.

    Here research portrays the execution as well as activity highlights for a "Phase-Locked Loop" ("PLL") engineering established frequency synthesizer for clock age also, computerized schemes running. From a programmed design, seeing an entry source frequency FREF=30 MHz, also, the synthesized waveform frequency will be 100 MHz. In the wake of producing the reproduction beside such qualities, one may next alter these values through introducing advanced qualities in the "MATLAB® Command Window", assuming one need to test beside this scheme. This model tells the best way to reproduce a "phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer". The scheme duplicates the (fsynFr) source signal frequency using a steady synN/synM, to deliver an integrated wave have a frequency of synFr*synN/synM. A criticism loop keeps up with the synthesized wave frequency on such stage.
