  • عنوان البحث : Response of two cauliflower cultivars to Nano fertilization

    The experiment was conducted in the field of the Department of Plant Production Techniques belonging to Al-Mussaib Technical College, AL-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University for the winter season 2020, to study the response of two cultivars of cauliflower plant to nano-fertilization. The experiment included two factors. The first factor included the two cultivars of cauliflower, cultivar (Solid snow White could) and the second factor, used nanofertilizer (KHAZRA) with concentrations (0, 2, 4, 6)g. A factorial experiment was conducted using the Randomized complete block design (RCBD). The averages were compared according to the least significant difference test at the 0.05% probability level. The cultivar White could significantly excelled and gave the highest values for traits of plant height 42.61 cm, number of leaves 21.69 leaf.plant-1, fresh weight of inflorescence disc 0.78 kg, inflorescence disc diameter 19.49 cm, total plant weight 2.06 kg, total yield 40.32 kg, where the treatment of nano-fertilization at a concentration of 6 g significantly excelled and gave the highest values of plant height which reached 45.14 cm, number of leaves 22.63 (leaf.plant-1). The total plant weight was 2.58 kg, the total yield was 49.03 kg and the interaction treatment (White could + nanofertilization at a concentration of 6 g) significantly excelled and gave the highest values for all studied traits.

  • عنوان البحث : Effect of Foliar Spraying and Extraction Method in Dill (Anethum graveolens L.) Seeds content from some medically active compounds

    The experiment was conducted at Al-Mussaib Technical College to study the effect of foliar spraying and the extraction method for the active compounds of Dill plant, where the factorial experiment was conducted according to Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates. Two factors were used, the first included the use of three concentrations of PRO.SOL, which are (0, 1, 1.5) g.L-1, the second factor is the method of extraction (aqueous and alcoholic). The results showed that the treatment of spraying PRO.SOL at a concentration of 1.5 g.L-1 significantly excelled the values of the compounds for (Ocimene, a-pinene Mereene, a-phllanderene, Limonene, Dill ether, Myristin) where it reached (45.17, 32.47, 37.12 125.47, 100.75, 82.04, 65.47) µg.ml. The alcohol extraction method also significantly excelled and gave the highest values for the compounds (Ocimene, a-pinene Mereene, a-phllanderene, Limonene, Dill ether, Myristin), reaching 42.58, 29.32, 32.14, 101.25, 98.23, 77.56, 60.25)µg.ml, respectively. Whereas, the bi-interaction treatment (spraying PRO.SOL at a concentration of 1.5 g / L + alcohol extraction) gave the highest values for the compounds (Ocimene, a-pinene Mereene, a-phllanderene, Limonene, Dill ether, Myristin) where it reached (55.76, 39.71, 44.71, 146.90, 123.99, 107.44, 82.52) µg.ml, respectively.

  • عنوان البحث : Effects of salinity stress on growth and yield of two varieties of eggplant under greenhouse conditions

    ABSTRACT The study was aimed at finding out the performance of growth and yield of two cultivars (Threa and Barcelone) of eggplant grown under four salinity stress levels of electrical conductivities (control, 4, 8 and 12 Ec (dS/m), which were considered treatments of stress, under greenhouse conditions. Tap water as a control management was exploited, altogether managements were given to the plants at the first day of removing and continued during the whole growing season. Our results demonstrated that salt irrigation had an unfavourable effect on plant growth and yield. Also it was observed that the effect of increasing irrigation water salinity lowered in most of the traits. The study also indicated that Threa was sensitive to salt stress. Phenotypic data of plant height, leaf number, branches number, leaf area, shoot dry weight, average of fruit number, average of fruit weight and total fruit harvest showed high decrease under 8 and 12 Ec (dS/m) under salt stress. The highest level in proline (mcg/g) and root dry weight (g) under increasing irrigation water salinity recorded the highest rate (7.81 and 141.89, respectively), with Threa variety under salinity stress level 12 Ec (dS/m).

  • عنوان البحث : EFFECT OF HUMIC ACIDS ON GROWTH, YIELD AND QUALITY OF THREE POTATO VARIETIES

    Abstract An experiment was conducted at AL-Musaib Technical College-Babylon, during winter 2017 - 2018 to investigate the “Humic acids affect the production of three potato varieties. The experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. Humic levels (0, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 m/L1), all treatment applied two times separately at the first spray after 30 days of planting, the second spray after 35 days from first spry of potato (Rivera, Rudolph and Elmundo) varieties . The growth and yield parameters to varieties were significantly influenced by various levels of Humic, as variety Elmundo presented additional height number of nodes 46.17, number of leafs 43.73, fresh and dry 71.79 and 8.88, respectively. The proposed work based on that in interaction of Elmundo variety × 2 m/L1 concentration of Humic acid the and the second of spray ,showed best performance for most of the growth and yield parameters may hold a hope for achieving maximum economic efficiency for growing plants of potato.   • عنوان البحث : Influence of Different Irrigation Levels on Varieties of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)Under Plastic House Conditions

    Abstract: Tomatoes are one of the more important horticultural crops in the world. The obtained results proved that the shortage irrigation has a negative effect on tomato development. More irrigation showed a decrease of morphological and production. The non-significant increase in irrigation of water will be increase of the efficiency and reduction. The study also, indicated that it is sensitive to tolerance for drought stress through greenhouse. At 80 % of water holding capacity led to save 36.30 % of the irrigation water and reduction in yield by 60.:9% in variety Kexin12. However, at 60% of water holding capacity resulted in 51.18 % of irrigation water saving but 89.66% of the in yield were lost. Supplying 40% will be save about 62.54 % of irrigation in produce by 9;.6< %. Therefore, the suggested results that supplying this variety Kexin 12 by 80% of WHC reduction in produce by 30.76% will be save 36.30 % of water.
